Terms & Conditions
Welcome to
www.dominioncinema.co.uk owned and made available by Dominion Cinema Edinburgh,
Newbattle Terrace, Edinburgh, EH10 4RT (referred to in these Terms of Use as
“we” and “us”).
The Terms of Use form part of an
agreement between you, the end-user, and ourselves and sets out the conditions
under which you may access the information, products, services and
advertisements (the “Material”) available through the Site. By accessing,
viewing or using the Material on the Site you have indicated to us that you
both understand and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.
There may be other Terms and
Conditions within areas of the Site which relate to your use of such areas,
such Terms and Conditions will, together with these Terms of Use, govern your
use of the Site.
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. These Terms of Admission, as may be from time to time amended, (these
“Terms”) set out the general terms which apply to you.
1.2. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. AGE RESTRICTIONS
2.1. Entry to films and events is restricted by the classification given by the
British Board of Film Classification or others. We are required to refuse
admission to anyone who is below the minimum age required by the relevant
classification.
2.1.1. Anyone can be admitted to films classified as U or PG.
2.1.2. Children under 12 can be admitted to films classified as 12A but only if
accompanied by an adult (i.e. someone over the age of 18).
2.1.3. Nobody under the age of 15 can be admitted to films classified as 15.
2.1.4. Nobody under the age of 18 can be admitted to films classified as 18.
2.2. Children under age 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for all
films starting at or after 7pm.
2.3. Children under age 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all
times.
2.4. Child tickets are valid for children up to the age of 14. Children from age 3 require a child ticket.
2.6. We reserve the right to require you to prove your age with appropriate
photographic ID if you are going to a 12A, 15, 18 film or purchasing an
alcoholic drink. If you are unable to prove your age you will be not be able to
watch the film or buy an alcoholic drink. We reserve the right to ask for such
proof at any time you are on our premises.
2.7. If you buy a ticket before we know its classification and you are not old
enough to be admitted to the screening we will issue you with a full refund.
3.
REFUND AND CANCELLATION
3.1 Once tickets
have been purchased they are non-refundable, however tickets can be transferred
up to 24 hours prior to the screening start time. If you booked tickets online
and have an account with us you will be able to process the swap within your
account. After 24 hours prior to the screening time, no transfer or credit will
be given, you are welcome to gift your tickets to any friends/family by
forwarding your confirmation of booking to them.
3.2 In
circumstances where the Dominion Cinema has cancelled a screening, a full
refund will be provided to you.
4.BOOKING
FEE
4.1 For cinema tickets
purchased online or via the Dominion Box Office telephone line a booking fee of
£2.10 will be payable per transaction (Booking Transaction Fee). The Booking
Transaction Fee represents our charge for providing a convenient online and
telephone booking service to our customers and is payable for all online and
telephone bookings, irrespective of the method of payment. As the Booking
Transaction Fee only applies to bookings made online or by telephone, it can be
avoided by purchasing tickets in person at the cinema. Dominion VIP members are
also exempt from paying the Booking Transaction Fee. Dominion VIP members
should ensure they are logged into their membership account when booking
tickets online or provide their membership number when booking tickets by
telephone.
5. EVENTS
5.1. Baby Club screenings are for
parents and guardians with babies up to 12 months old. Babies are free of
charge. Where the certificate is U, PG or 12A, older children may also attend
although a baby (0-12 months) is still required.
5.1.2. Adults without a baby will not be allowed to purchase a ticket to a
‘Baby Club’ screening.
6. DEFINITIONS
6.1. Only food and drink purchased at the cinema may be consumed within the
cinema.
6.2. No alcoholic drinks may be brought into the cinema building.
6.3. You must observe the licensing regulations at the cinema concerning the
sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks. In particular, when advised, you must
not take untoughened glass into the auditorium.
6.4. You must not smoke inside any of our premises.
7. Phones & Copyright
7.1. Mobile phones must be switched off or in a silent mode before you enter
the auditorium. You must not take or make calls inside the auditorium.
7.2. To avoid disturbing customers who arrive on time, customers arriving 20
minutes after the film has started will not be admitted to the performance.
Refunds will not be issued by us in these circumstances.
7.3. It is a serious criminal offence to copy or attempt to copy any film or
other copyright material exhibited in any part of the cinema, punishable on
conviction with an unlimited fine and imprisonment of up to a maximum of ten
years. You are not permitted to bring cameras and/or recording equipment of any
kind into the cinema.
8. REFUSAL OF ADMISSION
8.1. We reserve the right to refuse admission or require you to leave the
premises without a refund if you:
8.1.1. behave in an anti-social or threatening manner; or
8.1.2. put the safety of our customers, our employees or our property at risk;
or
8.1.3. bring a camera or recording equipment of any kind into the cinema; or
8.1.4. otherwise breach these Terms.
9. WEBSITE - TERMS OF USE
9.1. The Terms in this section (“Website Terms”) set out the legally binding
terms which apply to everyone who accesses or uses the Website. By accessing or
using the Website you agree to be bound by these Website Terms. If you do not
wish to be bound by these Website Terms you must leave the Website immediately,
or not enter it at all.
9.2. The Website is provided free of charge and we make no guarantee that it
will be uninterrupted or error free. In addition, we reserve the right to
modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, all or any part of the
Website without notice and without liability.
9.3. The Website and the materials on it are protected by copyright, trade mark
and other intellectual property rights and laws throughout the world. The
materials on the Website are owned by or licensed to us and may not be copied,
reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or distributed in any
way without our consent. Modification of the materials or use of the materials
for any other purposes is a violation of the copyrights and other proprietary
rights.
10. ONLINE TICKET PURCHASE
10.1. Tickets for films and events at our cinemas are sold by us at the prices
displayed for the relevant performance and the amount payable for them will be
debited immediately from your credit or debit card. By requesting tickets
through the Website you are placing a booking request for them on these Terms
which is only accepted and binding on us once we have debited your card.
10.2. A confirmation booking reference will be displayed on your screen and
emailed.
10.3. The email confirmation of your booking will set out the details of the
cinema tickets purchased and the total amounts paid for your tickets and Booking
Transaction Fee. Once this confirmation has been sent, the ticket price may be
refunded but only in accordance with Clause 3.2. Once a booking is confirmed
the Booking Transaction Fee is non-refundable.
10.4. Concessionary and children’s tickets are offered for sale on the Website.
In accordance with our General Terms you must bring proof of status or age with
you to the cinema to collect the tickets and to gain admission to the
performance.
10.5. Members must enter their details at the time of purchasing to claim any
discount. It is not possible to amend the booking once it has been completed.
10.6. Transactions will appear on your card/bank statement as a payment to Dominion
Cinema.
11. CUSTOMER SERVICE

12. VIP MEMBERSHIP
Membership
12.1. The VIP Membership includes 15 x First Class tickets
per year. You can redeem a maximum of 2x Member tickets per screening. Members
must enter their details at the time of purchasing to claim any discount. It is
not possible to amend the booking once it has been completed.
12.2. You can edit your bookings within your account,
and if you need to cancel within 24hrs+ of the performance start time, your
ticket will be credited back to your account. If you require to cancel within
the 24hr period, you can pass your ticket on to family or friends.
12.3. You will receive a specially reduced price for
our private Red Star screen of only £150, for up to 20 guests. Excluding
Saturdays. No package included, just hire of hall only. We have set time slots
and film choices, so please email boxoffice@dominioncinema.co.uk for
more information.
12.4. To earn loyalty points through our Bonds Bar
table service, you must be logged in to your account at the time of purchase.
We can not add any points at a later date if you do not log in prior.
12.5. As a member you will receive exclusive emails
regarding special discounts.
12.6 Monthly special offers
will be available at our Bar & Sweets Kiosk, please check with our team on
the day of your visit. We cannot always guarantee offers/ discounts during
certain times of the year. This is at managements discretion.
12.7 As a VIP Member you can
bring a friend for free on a Monday or Tuesday for screenings in First Class
only. In order to redeem the 'Bring a Friend' offer, you must use at least 1x
VIP ticket for the same screening. You can bring along 1x friend maximum per
membership, per screening. You will receive a 10% discount on tickets for any
live Royal Opera House and NT: Live screenings. Please note that VIP Membership
is not valid for Throwback Films and special events.
12.8 Give the gift of
cinema with a Dominion Cinema Gift Card and receive a 10%
discount. If you renew your Membership before the 12 month expiry,
your tickets and loyalty points will roll over for another 12 months once
payment of £220 has been made.
12.9 If you choose not to renew your membership
beyond 12 months, any loyalty points will be cancelled.
13. JURISDICTION
13.1.This agreement shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance
with Scots Law. Any action you or we bring to enforce this agreement shall only
be brought in the courts of Scotland and you expressly consent to the
jurisdiction of said courts. If any provision of this agreement shall be
unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable then that provision shall be
deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and
enforceability of any remaining provisions.

with canapes, followed by a film of your choice. We have a number of different screens to choose from, accommodating 13 guests – 200 guests.

armchair seating, with footstools and side tables, and enjoy a favourite
classic, latest blockbuster, premiere screening, or your own presentation. We
